two purple (ish) drawings.
I had some time to kill and no paper. I couldn't have that. So I scoured the area for a notebook and a pen, which I was able to find, and I drew these...
...in purple. Although now they look totally blue.
nii-iiice hat!
this guy is a sleeze. that's all i can say.

A mystery!
Holy crap! It's says it's been two months since I've posted on this blog! That ain't right, I know I've got some sketches and doodles! So either I didn't post them, or they got deleted. Most likely the first one! I'll have to dig them up! A mystery!
Little T's, Sweet Prince.
Go to Little T's for some late night nachos. Open until 3 AM! You can draw on the tables! Old-school MCAD hangout extraordinaire!
I drew a picture my friend on the table. I thought it was pretty convincing.
sweet prince is right!
compare and contrast.

Go, Go, Bionic!
This is Bionic Commando, AKA Nathan "R.A.D." Spencer. Capcom just released a remake of the original Bionic Commando that is so good, I had to do some fan art.
this actually doesn't look like Bionic Commando, it looks more like Super Joe (the agent B.C. is tasked with saving in the game) with a bionic arm. but Super Joe is just so awesome.

You broke it, now what?
This drawing inspired this guy and even this little guy, but through the amazing technology of me being lazy, he wasn't posted until well after the other two!
nice shoes, shoe dude!

Weird things happen in the Vacuum of space.
In space, no one can hear the weird space-fish crack your helmet open and slither out...
watch out! in your head!

two drawings for two children.
Lindsay sponsors two children in Mexico. She sends them letters, drawings and presents, too.
She asked me to do a quick drawing for each (a boy and a girl), so I did these. They were on a piece of paper she gave me, hence the personalized stationery.
a cute kitty with cute ice cream and a cute bird with a stupid hat.
that dog is a dog-gone bone-er.

you'd make a better door than a window.
We went to Dr. Sketchy's Twin Cities on Sunday. It was busy, and I couldn't see a few of the poses.
fact.
I had to make do.

...it means you play videogames a lot.
This is (very) loosely based on a friend. He does, on occasion, poop sock.
wear it loud, wear it proud.

They're not real, but they're still my friends.
There's this little game called WoW. I've been known to play it, but I can't find the time lately. I haven't logged in for months, maybe...
The sad part is I feel like my little characters are in there, waiting for me. If only they could log into my life. And help me finish all my work.
he looks like he's crying more emotionally than he is because he doesn't have a jaw...

Na-Nasty Nas
This is loosely based on a friend who was working at the Tea Garden with us. The inspiration might end with the unshaven face and hair flip.
is that a lightbulb skull? made sense at the time, i guess.
He doesn't own that shirt. It doesn't exist, and I don't even know if he's a Nas fan or what.

snake trouble.
today's post is dedicated to my friend Chris C for reasons that will make no sense without more information.
this guy has a sweater that's too tight, and a snake that's too big. but he don't care. it's more just annoying.

frogs know about the ways of women.
I drew this in the car. Drawing in the car is hard, very possibly harder than drawing on an airplane.

the end.
I started drawing in a tiny moleskin that Lindsay gave me almost two years ago.
I drew in a whole lot of other sketchbooks since then, but this one was always my favorite. I only drew in it when I wanted to just have fun and draw. Not to plan, not for work, not for a project, not to take notes, not to sketch or scribble. Only when I wanted to draw.
And now I have a tiny little book full of drawings I really love. But today I did my last drawing in it. And it was kind of sad.
I've got a pile of sketchbooks unopened or 1/2 full, but they're not the same.

the Monkees are an inspiration to us all.
Whoa, back up! An awesome dude is entering the room.
You know he's cool because he's piloted by a tiny kitten! What a stylish cap, little kitty!
that kitten wears the little cap because he's a huge Michael Nesmith fan.

batman+cloud
I have a lot of pets. All of them are cute (excluding the fish). But Batman, my Chinchilla, is the cutest of all. She's as soft as a cloud, too.

In defense of ABBA.
Open your eyes and look around! It's a new world!
Just one day after revamping my process blog, A Day in the Life gets a face lift too!
And here's a fun fact! I redid the whole thing while listening to a constant loop of ABBA for some reason. Take a Chance On Me is so damn catchy! Also, is it just me, or does S.O.S. sound EXACTLY like Madonna's Like a Prayer?
So in conclusion : Please Harmonix, throw some ABBA tracks in Rock Band.
...I mean, enjoy the new slick look.

it's not easy being me.
The other day I was reflecting on stuff. I reflected upon what makes me who I am.
- ...here is what I decided (in convenient list form).
- Chin. I have one that is square and sticks out far.
- Facial hair. I have it, and there's a patch of hair missing from the corner of my square chin, due mainly to stress and nerves.
- Messy hair swept to one side. Because that's how my hair is.
- Glasses. I wear them, and once Lindsay made me try on her contacts. It was a bad idea and ruined me on the idea of contacts forever.
- Bandana. I wear many. One at a time, though.
- Mouth that hangs open. Maybe it's my heavy jaw, but I often find myself staring slack-jawed. Lindsay usually reminds me by saying "do you want me to throw popcorn in there?"
And that's what makes me, me! Here it is again in picture form.
it's true. i have a hard time not being slack-jawed.

gently brush up against the vote!
he's a candidate for the political party you like the least.
In a magic world where I had some say over who becomes the next president, I would choose someone who is stern and tough on the issues. And they'd be downright mean, too. Mean to terrorists and enemies. And children who whine too much. And old people who drive stupidly. And teenagers.
Also, I'd have to choose someone who's rich. That way I'd be assured that they were also smart. Because rich people get rich by being smart. Or by being born into lots and lots of money.
Plus, we all know rich people would be good at staying in touch with the pressing issues of the common folks. Because rich people are better than poor people at pretty much everything. Except for being lazy and smelling badly. Poor people are so good at that.

Unchart this!
I just finished Uncharted : Drake's Fortune, a great PS3 game (finally).
Whenever I saw the glint of hidden treasure, I immediately rushed for it. Even if it meant getting shot in the face by 6 pirates while I bent over to grab it.
Also, I was terrible with the grenades.
"screw this treasure, I've got to focus throwing this grenade."

the neck bone's connected to the...
My moleskin sketchbook is nearly full. There's only a handful of pages left and I thought, "what does this book need more of?"
zombie heads. that's what.
I don't know why I even had to ask.

mighty (hungry) mouse.
mouse-mouse loves ice cream more than you could ever dream of loving ice cream. don't even front.
EDIT : I went back to this drawing a little bit. Above is the most recent version. The old one is slightly more cute, and can be found here.

You must be a nerd if you wear glasses.
Question : Is he a nerd? Or a jock? Or a jock posing as a nerd? Or a nerd who got all thick-necked in some crazy science experiment gone wrong?
Answer : None of the Above. He is familiar, though.
this reminds me of... some guy from somewhere.

I Love Street Fighter 2, I Just Really Hate Zangief.
like zangief, i am a manly man.
I don't really hate Zangief as a character. I like his tiny undies. I like his luxurious chest hair and manicured beard. I even like the cape he throws off his shoulders at the start of a round.
But if you've ever played Marvel Vs Capcom 2 with a friend who abused his Mech-Zangief transformation, you'd hate him too.
P.S. - Thanks to Lupe Fiasco for the title to this post.

plane party.
Q : What do you get when you draw on a dark plane during a bumpy flight?
A : Some crap like this...
the seat was empty, but it would have been awesome if bert were in it. i bet he'd turn around and say "will you please stop kicking my seat? i'm try-ing to sleep!".
Yeah. Bert is awesome.
Frozen-Brain Pun.
This was a funny pun while on the freezing and swanky streets of Manhattan.
Maybe less-so after the fact.
get it? kind of like the brand? only different.

Space-Chop!
...from the corner of his vision-receptors, he saw the space-rock move. It didn't move much. A space-inch or less, he calculated. But it had definitely moved.
Our brave space-hero stood motionless. Waiting in the frigid darkness of the Moon, his danger-sensors pulsed red. Trouble was most certainly near. Someone... no someTHING... was underneath that space-rock.
Slowly, RangerRobo raised his robo-hand, preparing for a massive Karate Chop...
oh, i can't look!

Letter to Water.
Dear Water,
How's it going? I'm pretty good. Sometimes I wish it wasn't so cold out. But I bet you don't like it either since it freezes you and stuff.
I just wanted to write to tell you that you're really rad. I like taking showers, and without you that'd be impossible. I like the way you and soap get all foamy. Sometimes I use the foam to make a beard or a tall hat.
Also, you're a total lifesaver at the gym. When I get all thirsty on the rowing machine and a need a break, I can always count on you to make me feel awesome again. Hey, isn't it funny that the rowing machine is like pretending to row a boat on you? I just thought of that.
So anyway, I just wanted to say 'thanks' and 'keep up the good work'. I try really hard to not pollute you and stuff, even though it's hard sometimes. I hope you and all the penguins along really well. I like them too.
I made this picture to show you that even if I order a soda when I go out, I still love you the most.
water : you rule!
Your B.F.F.
Chris

this drawing makes me so tired.
i wish i could fall asleep in the clouds too. instead i have to sleep on a pile of dog hair and cat litter.
